Today marks the beginning of a new year and a new decade, as well as the introduction of Clockwork Orchestra, a unique electronic "band" from Ireland.
This is the official and so far only website dedicated to Clockwork Orchestra and will act as the primary resource for all material relating to the project. The site will be regularly updated with up to date information on new releases and current activities.
In addition you can also follow Clockwork Orchestra via Facebook, MySpace, Vimeo, YouTube and Blogspot, all of which can be quickly reached using the link buttons below the menu on every page of this site.
The website you are viewing was designed with simplicity in mind in order to provide easy access to all of the important resources relating to Clockwork Orchestra. I tried to avoid using flash where possible so that it is viewable in as many browser configurations as possible without additional plugins installed.
If you encounter any sort of problems whilst using the site do not hesitate to send an e-mail to info@clockworkorchestra.com or leave a comment on the Facebook page here.
February Update
January saw the completion of the website in it's initial form and now features a full gallery section featuring examples of Mango's paintings and sculptures as well as a basic shop template with several examples of merchandise for sale.
Meanwhile, Mango has been working hard to make the first official Clockwork Orchestra release available as soon as possible.
40 Second Snippets
The official release of Clockwork Orchestra's first song "Tragic Roundabout" has been delayed by the ongoing work on the final mix of the track and in particular, on the animated music video for the aforementioned song which the group now hope to release in early March in conjunction with the video.
Until then, it is now possible to listen to several 40 second long extracts from various Clockwork Orchestra demos to give you an idea of what is to come in the following year. This can be done by clicking on any of the six segments of the clockwork violin on the website's homepage here.
Edit - the 40 second snippet audio clips are no longer available due to the release of full length versions of the songs.
Where's The Beef?
Several months have passed since the originally scheduled release of Clockwork Orchestra's debut single "Tragic Roundabout" but I can now confirm that the song will be available in the very near future.
The song in it's instrumental form has been virtually complete for some time but due to poor health and obsessive compulsive tinkering with the track, I have been unable to
produce a final mix with vocals that I am happy with so far.
Clockwork Orchestra On Facebook
The official Clockwork Orchestra Facebook page was recently launched in anticipation of the imminent release of the band's first material.
Click on the following link to visit Clockwork Orchestra on Facebook and "like" the group to be kept up to date with current activities and new releases.
Further examples of Mango's paintings and drawings have been added to the artwork section of the website. These nine pieces were completed at various points between 2003 and 2007.
Two of the pieces, "Tragic Roundabout" and "Miss World" are based on the Clockwork Orchestra songs of the same names.
I can tentatively confirm that the debut single from Clockwork Orchestra will be released towards the end of the month or failing that, the beginning of August 2010. The song is titled "Tragic Roundabout" and will be accompanied by a self-produced animated video.
Tragic Roundabout
I am happy to announce the long overdue release of "Tragic Roundabout", the debut single from Clockwork Orchestra. The track is available as a free download until August 31st 2010.
There are two versions of the song, the official vocal mix and an instrumental mix. Bother versions can be found on the music section of the website here.
Tragic Roundabout Music Video
The official music video for Clockwork Orchestra's debut single "Tragic Roundabout" is now available for viewing on YouTube here and in the video section of this website here.
The self produced video consists of a largely monochromic 2D animation and was created using Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator.
If you have a YouTube account please subscribe to our channel or add us as a friend here. Comments be it positive, negative or otherwise are more than welcome.
Edit - The video for Tragic Roundabout is now also available on our Vimeo channel here.
Clockwork Orchestra On Blogspot
As of today, Clockwork Orchestra can now be found on Blogspot here. The purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for opinions or topics which do not relate directly to the band itself.
It is also hoped that interviews with musicians
and other characters of interest will be posted on the blog in the future when time allows.
Clockwork Orchestra's first entry on Blogspot is titled "The Trouble With Music Genres" and is a straight forward criticism of the over-categorization of music in the present day.
A full length version of Clockwork Orchestra's "Miss World" is now available in the music section of the website here.
An accompanying music video for the song, created by artist/designer Anonymous Bosch can be viewed on YouTube here or for better audio quality, on Vimeo here.
For improved audio/visual quality, our videos are uploaded on Vimeo here. Whilst the videos are also on YouTube, I prefer Vimeo largely due to it's more favorable audio compression.
Please note that our Blogspot, Facebook, Last.fm, MySpace, Vimeo and YouTube pages can all easily be reached using the black and white link buttons at the bottom of each page on this website.

The Latest track from Clockwork Orchestra is now complete. The song, titled "Mummer" is available for listening on the music section of the website here.

The website has been given something of an overhaul over the last month. Firstly, the original music player has been replaced with a new type which can be found on the music section of the site here and on the homepage of here.
Additionally, several new pages have been created whilst others have been altered and improved all of which can be reached via the links in the tab menu on each page of the website.

There is now an interactive toy xylophone in the "Other" page on this site which can be played using your mouse.
I have provided instructions on how to play "Miss World" by Clockwork Orchestra using the xylophone.
Here is the latest track by Clockwork Orchestra. The song is titled "Heaven Or Helsinki" and can be played via the music page of this website, on soundcloud, Facebook or via the link below.
The song will be accompanied by an animated video created by Stefan Evans which will be online in the next few days.
You can check out the lyrics for the song here (they make sense of you're acquainted with hokey finnish phrases)
Talking To The Flowers Live In The Studio
I recorded a video of me playing/singing "Talking To The Flowers" live in my studio using my Vox Corinthian organ. The corinthian was an update to the near identical and widespread Vox Jaguar organ and is quite rare these days.
I was recently interviewed by Bori B of the Burning Flame Blog about Clockwork Orchestra and music in general. Read the interview here

The music video for the instrumental track "Mummer" is now online! The vertical animation which combines live action with stop motion was directed by Tanja Thomas and stars actress Grace Kelley.
